Public Meeting for pedestrians
Fed up with being treated as 2nd class?
Icy paths… dangerous road crossings… narrow pavements…
Come to the public launch of a campaign group for pedestrians: 7.30-8.30pm on Monday 12th December at Hallhill
There will be a couple of short presentations followed by an opportunity to discuss how we can best turn our streets into safe, welcoming spaces. All welcome.

Dunbar and East Linton are beautiful small towns. They are mostly flat and often the sun shines. Cycling is faster, but walking is more sociable. Walk with friends, stop to talk to neighbours, enjoy the world around you.
At a relaxed pace it takes about 20 minutes to walk one mile, and you’ll be using up as many calories as if you ran the same distance.
Why Walk? Why not?
Local Maps
In March 2011 Sustaining Dunbar published a Pedestrian Street Map of Dunbar and East Linton. This map highlights paths instead of roads, and features bus-stops and bus routes, swing parks, post boxes and the best places to cross the road. These maps are available free of charge from the Sustaining Dunbar shop at 16 West Port.
Additionally, the Visit East Lothian website has a number of walking maps of the local area which you can download.

Walks are free, just come along on Tuesdays at 1.30pm, Dunbar Leisure Pool. To find out more, phone Sue Broadway on 01620 827608.
